Course Overview

Each week, TLA World Travelers will “travel” to a new destination and explore its geography, people, culture, traditions, landmarks, food, art, music, and everyday life through engaging, age-appropriate activities.

Students will receive their own TLA Passport and build a passport portfolio throughout their travels. Each destination may include a passport stamp along with a project, creation, reflection, or keepsake representing something they discovered.

The goal is to introduce young learners to the wider world while encouraging curiosity, cultural awareness, creativity, and respect for the many ways people live and learn around the globe.

What We’ll Explore

Students may discover:

  • Maps & Geography — locating countries, continents, oceans, and important geographic features

  • People & Communities — exploring everyday life in communities around the world

  • Cultures & Traditions — discovering celebrations, customs, clothing, and traditions

  • Food — learning about foods and ingredients associated with different places

  • Art & Creativity — creating projects inspired by artistic traditions from around the world

  • Music & Movement — experiencing songs, instruments, rhythms, and movement

  • Landmarks & Natural Wonders — discovering famous places and environments

  • Language — learning simple greetings, words, or expressions from different languages

  • Stories — exploring folktales, children's literature, and stories connected to each destination

What Learning Looks Like

Every TLA World Travelers experience begins with a new destination.

Students might locate the destination on a globe, receive a new passport stamp, listen to a story, explore photographs or artifacts, learn a greeting, create an art project, try a new food, listen to music, or participate in a hands-on cultural activity.

A typical adventure might look like:

Pack Our Bags → Find It on the Map → Discover → Experience → Create → Stamp Our Passports!

Our TLA Passport Portfolio

Each World Traveler will build a personal passport portfolio throughout the program.

As students visit new destinations, they can collect:

Passport Stamps • Maps • Artwork • Travel Journals • Fun Facts • Photos of Projects • Cultural Activities • Reflections

By the end of their journey, students will have a collection that tells the story of where they've “traveled” and what they've discovered along the way.

From Our Classroom to the World

Our goal is to help children develop curiosity about the world, appreciation for different cultures, and an understanding that while communities may have different traditions and ways of life, we are all connected.
