The Learning Acres (TLA) Academy is a secular,inclusive homeschool learning community where K–6 students can learn, grow, and belong.
Through flexible academics, hands-on enrichment, creative exploration, and meaningful social opportunities, TLA Academy provides a supportive environment that embraces different learning styles, strengths, interests, and support needs.
Our goal is simple: to give every learner the space and support to learn at their own pace, build confidence and independence, and develop meaningful connections along the way.

Seedlings
Early Elementary — K–1
Building strong foundations through curiosity, movement, play, and connection.
Our Seedlings program focuses on the foundational skills young learners need to grow with confidence. Learning experiences include phonemic awareness, early reading, handwriting, number sense, hands-on math, introductory science and social studies, communication, social development, and growing independence.
At this age, learning shouldn't mean sitting at a desk for long periods. Instruction is intentionally short, interactive, and engaging, using manipulatives, visuals, movement, games, stories, sensory experiences, and play-based exploration.
Learners are encouraged to move, ask questions, create, experiment, practice, and try again while developing the routines and confidence that prepare them for increasingly independent learning.

Sprouts
Grades 2–3
Growing skills, confidence, curiosity, and independence.
Our Sprouts are beginning to transition from learning foundational skills to using those skills to explore, understand, and engage with the world around them.
Learning experiences focus on reading fluency and comprehension, written expression, addition and subtraction, early multiplication and division, hands-on science, social studies, and project-based learning.
As learners become more independent, we also intentionally build organization, executive-function skills, communication, peer collaboration, problem-solving, and responsibility into the learning day.
Lessons remain engaging and hands-on, incorporating games, manipulatives, experiments, projects, movement, creative activities, and opportunities for choice while gradually encouraging learners to take greater ownership of their work.
