Our Programs

At The Learning Acres (TLA), our curriculum is thoughtfully divided into two complementary categories: Core and Enrichment. This structure allows us to provide a balanced, whole-child learning experience that meets both academic and developmental needs. Core classes are grounded in state standards and delivered through MiaAcademy (K–8) and MiaPrep (8–12)—robust online learning platforms supported by our instructional team. These classes focus on essential subjects such as ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Meanwhile, Enrichment classes extend beyond academics to nurture creativity, emotional growth, life skills, and physical wellness. These offerings—such as Creative Arts, Entrepreneurship, SEL, Life Skills, and Movement—are designed to spark joy, foster independence, and support diverse learning styles through hands-on, relationship-based instruction. This two-pronged approach ensures that every learner at TLA is supported both intellectually and holistically, at their own pace.

Core Courses

At TLA, we support students through a flexible, personalized learning experience rooted in academic excellence and real-world application.

Our core courses combines the rigor of MiaAcademy (Grades K–8) and MiaPrep (Grades 8–12)—both online, standards-aligned platforms—with the hands-on, supportive environment of our farm-based learning campus. Our instructors adapt and tailor each lesson plan based on the individual needs of the students.

Students work at their own pace through their core academic subjects with the guidance of experienced on-site instructors and learning coaches. Offered in small groups, learners receive individualized attention to help them succeed.

To deepen understanding, we integrate farm-based extensions and project-based activities that make learning meaningful and memorable—connecting academic concepts to real-life experiences in nature, sustainability, and community.

This blended approach fosters confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Special Education Add-Ons

For students who may benefit from customized learning plans, have IEPs, learning differences, or emerging needs, we go a step further for Core ELA and Math Blocks. Our Special Education Program Partner, Casey’s Special Education Services, creates customized lesson plans and modifications based on:

  • Student learning profiles and support needs

  • Diagnostic data and IEP goals

  • Therapy recommendations (ABA, OT, SLP, etc.)

  • Parent collaboration and feedback

Casey works closely with families and team members to track goals, provide scaffolding, and advocate for each learner’s success—academically and emotionally.

Each child’s plan is reviewed regularly to ensure that instructional methods, accommodations, and goals are responsive to growth and developmental changes
